This years meeting topic is Building An Abortion Act Fit For The 21st Century where we’ll hear from a great panel of speakers –
Dr. Pam Lowe
Dr Pam Lowe is a senior lecturer at Aston University. Most of her teaching and research is centred around women’s reproductive health, with a particular interest in pregnancy, contraception and parenting. Recently she has worked on a number of projects including examining the construction of foetal alcohol syndrome in British newspapers and how policies around parenting are being reframed though an biologically-determined understanding of neuroscience.
Dr. Jayne Kavanagh
Jayne has worked as a sexual and reproductive health clinician at the Margaret Pyke Centre in central London for 17 years. She worked in abortion care in Homerton Hospital in the 1990s and in 2013 and in UCLH in 2001/2. She is a Principal Clinical Teaching Fellow at UCL Medical School where she is responsible for designing and delivering the medical ethics and law curriculum. Her professional interests include: launching projects that address social injustice, prejudice and discrimination; making access to medicine fairer and women’s sexual and reproductive health rights. She is academic lead for the UCL Medical School widening participation project Target Medicine and the UCL medical student action groups,Viva la Vulva and LGBTalk. She works with local activists, teachers and clinicians on FGM-related projects and contributes to sex and relationship education in Camden and Islington secondary schools.

Abortion Rights 2015 Annual General Meeting. All Abortion Rights members are most welcome and we would be delighted if you were able to join us at the event.
*To help cover the costs of the event, we ask individual members and representatives of our affiliates to contribute a registration fee of £5.00, or £2.00 for those who are unwaged. Please get in touch with the Abortion Rights office if you feel you cannot afford the registration fee.*

The Abortion Rights 2015 AGM will be held on Saturday 28 March 2015 and these are the following deadlines in line with our constitution*:

Changes to the constitution deadline, notice to the Executive:
Mailing 2 (including notice of all motions, nominations and proposals for changes to the constitution):
Deadline for nominations/motions/constitutional changes is noon on Tue 17/02/2015.
Those who want to take part in the AGM can join up until & on the day.
But those submitting nominations or motions need to be members in good standing by the 17/02/2015.
