MPs call to extend legal abortion to Northern Ireland

Currently the 1967 Abortion Act does not extend to Northern Ireland and women there are forced to travel to England or other countries and pay privately for abortions. Those who can't afford to are forced to continue with unwanted pregnancies or to resort to unsafe methods including buying drugs from the internet.

This Autumn MPs can vote to extend the Abortion Act so that women in Northern Ireland can access safe, NHS-funded abortions without travelling overseas. FIND OUT MORE
