Women's abortion rights were hard fought for and the trade unon movement has played an important role in defending those rights when they have come under attack in the past. Now, a strengthened anti-choice lobby is determined to turn back the clock on women's rights and the pro-choice movement needs the active support of trade unions again.

We are delighted to have the national support and affiliation of the T&G, FBU, CWU, amicus, BECTU, UNISON, ASLEF, RMT and TSSA.
We also have the support of many local trade union branches, trade union sections and local trades councils.

Every trade unionist can make a real difference to the campaign to defend abortion rights by actively supporting our campaign initiatives and by joining Abortion Rights as an individual member. We also encourage all trade unions at a national, local branch and section level to affiliate to the campaign and help build a powerful pro-choice movement capable of safeguarding women's crucial rights.
