| Scottish campaigners step up to the challenge |

 In Scotland supporters worked with the Scottish TUC and the student movement to brief Scottish MPs ahead of the key votes. Many new and longstanding activists got involved in lobbying, campaigning and providing a pro-choice voice for the media. A protest was called against the ‘Precious life’ tour at Glasgow University in January and on 19 May over 100 supporters gathered to protest in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Student groups were set up and plans are now being made for the next academic term. Supporters will be meeting in each Scottish city. A seminar is planned on 18 October in Edinburgh to discuss ‘Abortion and women’s rights’. Please contact the office for details. |
