15-17 October, London.
The European Social Forum (ESF) is an international forum for debate and a cultural festival to create a better world. ESF will open with a large event on Thursday 14 October followed by three days of discussion and debate involving well known speakers from around the world, as well as music, drama, film, and exhibitions, all taking place in London at Alexandra Palace and other venues in the Bloomsbury area.
This year’s ESF is organised around 6 key themes, these include: war and peace; democracy and fundamental rights, social justice; corporate globalisation; against racism, discrimination and the far right: for equality and diversity; the environment.
Abortion Rights will be present at the next ESF, putting women’s reproductive rights on the agenda. We have tabled the following two seminars:
- Implications of Bush’s Global Gag Rule, which denies funding to overseas aid groups that promote or perform abortions, affecting women worldwide.
- Assessing the state of reproductive rights in Europe, both within national and EU context.
