It’s the end of 40 Days for Life’s anti-choice clinic protest on Sunday, so to celebrate there are a couple of great pro-choice events going on, in London and Worthing which we hope you’ll go along to.
Worthing pro-choice demonstration
Brighton Pro Choice is planning a a pro-choice demo outside Jubilee Church in Worthing from 9am to 12pm. The Jubilee Church is an outspoken supporter of extreme anti-choice group Abort 67, whose protests outside the Wistons clinic have attracted police attention due to their use of bloody, graphic, and gory imagery.
Brighton Pro Choice says: “This Sunday 4th November, Brighton Pro Choice is taking the ‘Fight For Reproductive Freedom’ to Jubilee Church in Worthing. Jubilee Church openly support Abort 67’s aims and tactics. We are going to ‘educate’ their congregation about choice by holding a lively pro-choice picket outside their church.
“Our last picket there was a great success. Let’s keep up the pressure, and let them know attacks on reproductive freedom are not welcome.”
Comedy for Choice
Laughing at 40 Days for Life is one of the healthier ways to cope with the anti-choice group’s oppressive sanctimony and faux-compassionate antics. To that end, the Bloomsbury Pro-Choice Alliance has arranged a pro-choice comedy fundraiser, which will take place on Sunday November 4th, at 7.30pm, in the Yorkshire Grey pub on Theobalds Road, London. They’ll be raising much needed funds for Education for Choice, but will also be collecting for Abortion Rights and the Abortion Support Network too!
The lineup features Lucy Porter, Sarah Bennetto, Catie Wilkins, Iszi Lawrence, Bethany Black, Nick Doody, Stuart Black, and Tiffany Stevenson. There will also be a pro-choice tombola (?!) and “hook-a-duck” (?!?!)
Tickets cost £3 if confirmed in advance (click here for the Eventbrite page), or £5 on the door.
