23rd November 2013 10:30 @ ULU Malet street
In light of increased anti-choice activity on campuses reported to us by student unions around the country and abortion clinics being picketed as part of ’40 Days for Life’ we are concerned that the issue is becoming too contentious to discuss and that this is damaging for proper access to information and the future of women’s healthcare.
Abortion Rights are calling this conference to discuss these issues. We will hear from speakers on the following topics:
• Abortion in the media
• Perspective of abortion… providers and medical professionals
• Students campaigning in NUS
• Linking in with community activists
• The legal situation and what you can say in your student union
We aim to discuss important pro-choice arguments, equip students with the facts to campaign effectively and talk about the impact of anti-choice activity on campus.
We will release more information about session timings nearer the time.
