On the news that woman in wales can now take abortion pills at home Kerry Abel, Abortion Rights Chair says
‘Abortion Rights welcomes the news announced today that women in Wales will now have the option to take the second abortion pill at home, this follows the example of Scotland which made this possible last year.
This will make accessing abortion services easier for many women in Wales who struggle to make the two trips that has been expected previously.
This option will also ensure the dignity of women, many women previously have experienced bleeding and significant cramping whilst on public transport. In rual parts of Wales there is little access to abortion services and women have to travel long distances, this will benefit them the most.
We call on the English government to follow suit and provide women across England to the same provision as women in Scotland and Wales’
